Fresh Picks Policy
Signing Up - When you sign up for Fresh Picks by Deardorff Organics, a secure, online member profile is created for you through a web-based software program called Farmigo. You can view your account and make changes to your profile, pick up location, credit card, or other account information. This site will also allow you to place a vacation or suspension hold for short periods of time.
Box Options- We offer 1 size All-Organic box for $25.00 each, filled with a variety of Certified Organic Deardorff Family Farms grown products as well as produce from other local organic growers. You will see about 10-12 items in each box. You will receive the boxes on a bi-weekly basis (every other week.) You will not pick your individual items each week, but rather enjoy a variety selection chosen by Deardorff Family Farms according to what’s fresh and in season!
Payments - We bill your Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit or debit card $25.00 on the same day your Fresh Picks is delivered. It’s automatic and you will get a statement by email. We do not store any of your personal or financial information on our website. Our order site is run by Farmigo and your information is stored securely by Authorize.net.
Picking Up Your Order - Please remember to pick up your order at your designated location within the designated time period, or have a friend or family member do so. Please be sure your name is checked off the list when you pick up and DO NOT take a box if your name is not on the list.
Missing Your Pick Up - If you miss your pick up, please try to contact Fresh Picks as soon as you can; we may be able to help. Our locations have agreed to hold the boxes an extra day, but refrigeration is not guaranteed--The Whole Foods location and Deardorff’s facility will keep boxes in their coolers, but the other pick-up locations will NOT. However, all boxes not pre-arranged to be picked up after designated time frame will schedule for donation to an interested party or facility.
We’re sorry but we cannot give a credit for boxes that are not picked up; but don’t worry, the produce will not go to waste!
Changing Your Pick Up Location - If you want to change your pick up location, please do so before midnight on the Sunday before your next delivery. If you switch, then want to switch back, you’ll need to log into your account to do so.
Vacation and Suspension Holds - You may put your Fresh Picks delivery on hold by logging into your account. If you want to do this, please do so before midnight on the Sunday before your next delivery. Your credit/debit card will not be charged while your delivery is on hold.

Communications – We communicate with you via email on a regular basis to inform you of a payment or to remind you of a scheduled pick up. Sometimes we will need to send out alerts about your order, or inform you about happenings on our farm. By becoming a member of Fresh Picks, you are agreeing to open and read all email communications as soon as you see them since much of the information is time sensitive.
Cancellations - You may cancel your subscription at any time, giving us 3 days’ notice before your pick up day by calling Christine at 805-200-5216 or sending her an email at FreshPicks@DeardorffFamilyFarms.com. Please be sure you get a confirmation email back confirming your cancellation.
Holiday Changes - We will give you plenty of notice about holiday delivery date changes.
Quality Guarantee/Returns: Deardorff Family Farms has been providing customers with the freshest, best tasting fruits and vegetables since 1937, while engaging in sustainable farming practices that use few chemicals, protect the environment, and yield healthy and delicious produce. If you believe you deserve a credit for poor quality, damaged, or otherwise unusable produce, please contact Christine at FreshPicks@DeardorffFamilyFarms.com. We will evaluate cases individually. Be sure to include what day/time/place you picked up the produce and how it was stored.
